FIBES, the venue in Spain for great events

Since its inauguration in 1989, FIBES Conference and Exhibition Centre in Seville has anchored itself as one of the most prestigious venues in Spain, welcoming some of the largest conferences in Spain and trade shows in Spain along with many other forms of MICE events. To this date, it has become a solid contributor to the city’s economy, drawing in delegates from all over the country as well as from international horizons. Looking for a venue in Spain to host your event? Here are just four reasons why you should make FIBES your chosen venue in Spain.

#1 The diversity of its facilities

FIBES first opened its doors to the public in 1989 to host the growing annual Iberoamerican Feria of Seville (la Feria Iberoamericana de Sevilla – hence “FIBES”), a trade fair that required vast amounts of space. FIBES responded to this demand with 3 exhibition halls each of a size of 7,200m2, complete with 2 auditoria of a total capacity of 1,500, plus breakout rooms and other amenities. The grand opening of the newest extension FIBES II in 2012 further amplified the FIBES complex, adding a state-of-the-art auditorium with a capacity of 3,200, 2,500m2 extra exhibition space, a 2,000m2 catering area, an underground car park with 900 spaces, and over 50 breakout rooms to be used for a number of functions. Moreover, the FIBES I and FIBES II sections are connected by a footbridge wide enough to be used as extra exhibition space, and which means the complex can be used as a single venue or as two independent premises to host two events simultaneously.

#2 A venue to host all types of events

venue spainFIBES was designed to host anything from large musicals and shows to small meetings, video conferencing, the largest exhibitions, award ceremonies, industrial trade shows, poster presentations, and more. In the past years, FIBES has hosted the following types of events in Seville: international conferences (EAIE 2017, ECFS 2017, EuCheMS Congress 2016, etc.), exhibitions and trade fairs (Andalucía Sabor – International Fine Food Exhibition, Aerospace and Defence Meetings, Expobelleza Andlaucía, etc.), shows and musicals (Mamma Mia! the Musical, La Música de las Galaxias, La La Land in Concert, etc.), live broadcasts (Madame Butterfly live re-transmission from Madrid, etc.), award ceremonies and graduation ceremonies, forums, etc.

#3 Seville, a great destination for MICE tourism

The city of Seville is a reason in itself to host your MICE events at FIBES. The city’s rich history and culture, its traditional architecture and tapas culture and gastronomy, all count as powerful ingredients to attract delegates and add value to your MICE events. In the first half of 2017, Seville’s hotels welcomed over 2.2 million tourists and its airport received over 1.6 million travellers (statistics courtesy of andalucia.org), proving that the city is more than capable of welcoming large influxes of tourists. FIBES is a venue at the heart of one of Spain’s most popular destinations.

#4 A venue in Spain with great accessibility

Accessibility always plays an important role for any type of event, and it won’t come as a surprise that FIBES is ideally located exactly halfway between Seville’s international airport San Pablo and its main railway station Santa Justa. Taxi services are always available in the city due to its popularity with tourists, and main bus routes connect the city centre with the venue. For the larger events, special shuttle bus services are set up to cater for the influx of delegates.

This rounds up our list of four reasons why you should select FIBES as your venue in Spain. Don’t hesitate to contact us for more information on the Conference and Exhibition Centre and its premises.
