19 Jul EAIE 2017: Europe’s largest international higher education conference comes to Spain
From 12th to 15th September 2017, FIBES Conference and Exhibition Centre will host the 29th Annual EAIE conference and exhibition. Organised by the European Association for International Education (EAIE), the annual international conference is considered Europe’s largest and most comprehensive event for higher education, gathering around 5000+ professionals from across the globe each year. The EAIE was founded in 1989 with one clear strategy in mind: the internationalisation of higher education. The member-led association aims to contribute in all ways possible to developments in international higher education in Europe. FIBES prepares to welcome one of the most anticipated international conferences of 2017, packed with a diverse conference programme, exhibitors from around the world, and original networking events.
EAIE Seville 2017 and its international conference programme
The theme of the EAIE 2017 conference is “a mosaic of cultures”, a theme that follows in perfect line with the association’s general vision statement: “we believe international education and exchange deepens appreciation of human society and is essential to the prosperity of societies and individuals alike”. Hence a conference programme that abounds with international topics of discussion.
The conference starts on Tuesday 12th September with an introductory session on higher education in Spain, and ends on Friday 15th with a closing plenary and luncheon. During the four-day event, delegates will be able to make their way around no fewer than 157 sessions, 20 workshops, 56 poster sessions, 19 networking events, and 5 campus experiences. Panels and speakers will cover a range of general international topics such as:
- Erasmus applications
- international student recruitment
- the internationalisation of PhD programmes
- the cases of refugee students
- managing diversity and gender equality
Other activities will focus on individual countries, covering topics such as:
- the case of British students amidst post-Brexit uncertainties

The 5 Campus Experiences are intended to showcase 5 selected Andalusian universities, in which delegates can meet and network with the university faculty, members of staff, as well as students. View the full programme for EAIE 2017 on the EAIE website.

Networking opportunities at EAIE Seville 2017
On top of its impressive programme filled with sessions and workshops, the international conference has prepared a series of networking events of all types for its visitors.
